Hey guys! I had the pleasure of shooting RockStar Wigs‘ launch of their newest collection, the Godiva Collection. This collection is based off of the legendary Lady Godiva who rode through town naked on horseback in protest of taxation. The designer of RockStar Wigs wanted the photos to reflect the inspiration of the collection as much as possible by shooting all of the launch photos in the nude.
I teamed up with alternative model Fate and Sweet Trade Photography for a marathon shoot day in Clarksburg, Maryland. My plans for the day included shooting the Godiva in black plum, dark brown, and milk tea on Fate. So we headed out to our location. Oh my gosh. How was this the hottest day ever? Not only was the temperature about five million degrees, we had a heavy rain the night before. Cue humidity. And mud. Lots of mud.
Location scouting in pink shoes. Mistake.
Shortly after sinking ankle-deep in the mud, we found a great location to shoot the lovely Fate as Lady G. After hauling all of our gear and wardrobe (for other shoots we had planned), it was time to get ready to shoot these bad boys!
While Fate was shaving her legs (hahaha- way to be prepared!), Sarah from Sweet Trade Photography and I were being a bunch of weirdo goofballs and swinging the Godiva hair all around and making funny faces at each other. It was sooo hot out. That’s pretty much all I can remember about this shoot.
Next step: Getting Fate in her very complicated wardrobe. Check!
Long, long, long, amazing wigs! Here is Fate in our classy dressing room, getting ready to shoot!
Okay… looks like we are finally ready to get the ball rolling…
Quick lighting test…
Bingo! Let’s do this!

Mission complete! Fate killed it as Lady Godiva!
While I was shooting this collection, I grabbed a few quick headshots of Fate in her new Dolluxe lashes. Dolluxe is the new AMAZING cosmetics line from the creator of Gothic Lolita Wigs and RockStar Wigs.
She is so incredibly stunning.
Anyway, back to Godiva. For some variety in the photos for the collection, I decided to shoot the other two colors, black and burgundy, on myself, in my home studio.
I often hear of photographers complaining because they don’t have a studio. Well ya know what? I don’t either. And I don’t have a spare room to make a studio in my apartment either. So I rearrange my living room and move my couches to different areas every time I need to make a studio setup. I hate when people make the excuse of not having enough space. I live in a tiny apartment in the city. There is always a way. /end rant

I hope you enjoyed seeing this collection from the mastermind at RockStar Wigs! More posts coming soon! I promise I am trying to keep up with this blog! *faints*
So, everyone who knows Jazzmin Jolly knows that she is a weird little creature. She bounces and twirls and sings all day long. It is adorable to watch her freak out when she sees a microscopic spider or when she is terrified to do a bikini shoot even though she has the most amazing bod of anyone I know. Enter Jazzmin Jolly.
Jazzmin came down from Philly to join in the Hypnotic Sweet Treats launch that we were shooting over the weekend and wanted to shoot this summery side project. Jazzmin wanted to make an outfit entirely covered with flowers, but who wants to (or has time??) to make a full flowing dress of flowers?? Jazzmin decided to make a swimsuit covered in flowers instead (much less surface area!), which was an idea I LOVE. Nothing says summer like flowers, sunglasses, and a bikini! Ow ow!
Y’all. This girl was terrified to do a shoot showing this much skin but look how confident and amazing she looks? Can you even tell she was nervous? Go tell her how awesome she is right now!!! Facebook: Jazzmin Jolly
Abs, abs, and more abs. Damn girl!
Flower shoes! Look at her flower shoes!!! Oh my god!
I hope you all enjoy some summer fun this season! Get out there and do something awesome!
Hey everyone! While Grace Valentine and Katie Avalanche were in town last weekend, we wanted to shoot a NOH8 series to kick off Pride Month. As a big supporter of gay rights and equality for all, this shoot was very important to me. I was more than happy to shoot this for one of my favorite couples in the world.
Find out more about the NOH8 Campaign here: http://www.noh8campaign.com
Get involved and speak up. There is no room in this world for the intolerance and prejudice that same sex couples still face every day.
Well… I know I said I would be better about blogging… Oops. I guess I lied. But now…. For real. I am determined to catch this blog up because I have a ton of awesome content that isn’t getting the attention it deserves. So here’s to blogging, and here’s to staying on top of this. How about if I fall behind on this blog again, you go to my Facebook Page and harass me for updates. Deal? Deal.
Okay okay okay… Where were we? Let us take the time machine back to January 23rd, when the weather was freezing and my apartment was steaming.
Here we are. January 23rd, 2013.
Just kidding. Lets go back ever farther to the planning stages of this shoot. Reeeewind!
After being invited to be an affiliated photographer for Deadly Dessert Magazine, the first issue I would have work in was going to be the February issue. I knew this was a great excuse to shoot a Valentine’s Day themed shoot that I’ve been dying to do. Anyone who has seen my body of work knows that I love to shoot barely-clothed beautiful women with bright colored hair. I’m sure you can guess where this is going.
My apartment in the city is tiny and I don’t have a studio but I knew this shoot had to be indoors. It seems like I’ve shot every inch of my apartment a million times. I knew I had to make my apartment NOT look like my apartment. So I while doing a round between the dollar store, craft store, fabric store, and thrift store for photoshoot goodies, I stumbled upon this awesome fabric on sale at G Street Fabrics in Maryland. Initially I thought about wrapping my models in the pink fabric, but then I had the idea to make curtains behind them with the fabric. Since the fabric was on sale and dirt cheap, I bought all of it and brought it home for a little experimenting.
My big sis was in town visiting and she also just so happens to be the craft queen. It was nice to have an extra set of hands!
After a night of trying different ways of hanging the curtains, I decided that it could definitely be done.
Okay… Fast forward to January 23rd.
After finding two beautiful models and a super talented makeup artist, the transformation of my apartment and my girls began.
Models: Fate & CV Toki

MUA: Anita of Tranquil Ashes Makeup Artistry

I made a video tutorial to accompany this shoot that shows you how to turn a small space like my apartment into a DIY studio space. Watch our shoot from start to finish:
This is one of my favorite shoots I have ever done EVER. Seriously…. Just wow. I LOVE these two girls. They are easily my favorite models in DC. Their chemistry together in this shoot was so perfect and it turned out exactly how I imagined. Thank you lady bugs!! You guys are perfect! xx
That’s it for January… Coming to you soon (I promise!!), FEBRUARY!
Valentine’s Day Shoot
Oh my gosh. I am SO behind in blogging! Let’s time travel back in time together to January 12, 2013. WeeeooOoOooOooEeoooOooo. That’s my time travel noise.
Hi. Welcome to my January 12, 2013 blog post. Today, I was lucky enough to have a good friend of mine, Jazzmin Jolly, travel down from Philadelphia to come shoot with me! As if my friends weren’t all awesome and amazing as it is, they also all happen to be models. It’s the nature of the industry and one of the many perks of being a photographer. So when my friends come to hang out, we shoot! Yay!
Jazzmin and I started with a quick Ariel cosplay shoot before immediately being booted from National Harbor. Well. That is always fun. Not. But that’s neither here nor there. This post isn’t about that shoot. It’s about THIS shoot!
Jazzmin and I were featured in Essere Magazine for our The Doll in White photo set!
(Get the issue here!)
Since we are now pros in time travel, let’s go back even farther. The whole idea came to me while I was location scouting a few days prior to Jazzmin’s visit. I read about a cool place online, so I thought I’d check it out as a potential photo location. After checking it out, I walked around through some trees for a bit and stumbled upon this little gem, which is actually way cooler than the original location that I had gone to scout! Don’t you love that? What a win!
So after a quick failure in National Harbor, we scooted on over to this location to switch to our little lolita doll shoot. Our mutual friend and lolita extraordinaire, Grace Valentine, let Jazzmin borrow one of her lolita dresses which turned out to be PERFECT with the house, the white bunny, and the extreme fog. I love to blow out images as it it, but man… This made it too easy!
Here is Jazzy getting ready in the car. We’re fancy like that.
After Jazz was all dolled up, we raided the house, and left with these amazing photos.
She looks so amazing! I love it! And the weather and the lighting… Ah! It’s been a long time since I’ve shot any natural light stuff, but I really dig what we got on this day in January. She was a serious trooper for sitting out in the cold in that dress. Thanks Jazz!
For more Behind the Scenes and a time lapse set to the wonderful weirdness of Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, check out this video:
A few more Behind the Scenes. We might be a little out of control.
After we got home, we had a Pikachu party before Jazzy had to head back to Philly. Here is my darling assistant Pipes (looking very happy), and Jazzmin’s assistant Floppy Ears, sporting the Pikachu look.
And that’s it from my fun day with Jazzmin! Remember to check out her modeling page here: Jazzmin Jolly!
Come back and see me soon, you adorable little thing!

See you soon for more time traveling until I am up to date! Whewwww!

Hey guys! I have an exciting post for you today! Sweet Trade Photography invited me to shoot some latex outfits from Fetasia Latex and Scarlet Bliss (provided by Jade) with her earlier this week. I was so stoked to meet alternative model Fate and have the chance to shoot her. This girl can morph from fairy princess to sexy latex femme fatale in a matter of minutes. It was truly amazing to watch this girl work it. We decided to start off with more “normal” looks and progress to the latex shots at the end. Latex is a messy thing to shoot and if you’ve ever done it, you’ll know why we did it last. 😉
I LOVE working with Sarah from Sweet Trade Photography. We have only shot together one other time but I model for her quite frequently. Some of the best shots in my modeling portfolio are from this girl. She makes magic. But it’s so interesting to shoot alongside her because our styles are very different. We can shoot the same subject in the same setting and the same outfit and the images don’t look anything alike. I love that. We even have the same camera. I think that says a lot about artistic style and a photographers eye. Too cool. I also love shooting with Sarah because we get all of these cool Behind the Scenes pictures of us being goofy. Hehe!
Anyway, back to Fate. This first outfit is such a mashup of everyone’s things. Fate had this amazing flowy skirt that we paired with a Victorian-esque corset I brought, shoulder pieces from Amorous Cat’s Attic (provided by Jaded), and a dip into my magic bag of wigs.
Here I am adjusting Fate’s wig. The wig is from Cosplay Wigs USA (available here: CWUSA Curly Blonde). Also, I’d like to clarify that I am not a giant. Fate is just a munchkin. 🙂 xo
After pulling all of our resources together and getting everything all good to go, we went out to the woods in Sarah’s backyard. Time to make some princess magic happen.
Next up, we stuck with the same kind of innocence of the first set. Fate switched into an adorable little dress, and we switched her into some dark brown long hair (Available here: CWUSA Long Straight Brown).
Haha!! Wig cap alert! Helping Fate get her wig on…. Always funny.
This time we went out to the front yard to grab some shots by some flowers. The sun was in an awesome spot for lens flare, and I am a HUGE sucker for flare if I can get it. So… here ya go!
Yesss! Sun flare love! And can I just point out how well Fate nails “innocent”? Very convincing… 😉
Another Behind the Scenes shot! This is Sarah shooting. She asked me to shake some flower pedals down onto Fate which led to this funny series….
On the way back into the house, the stairs jumped out at me as the perfect background against the dress and Fate’s beautiful pale skin contrasting with her hair and eyes. SO MUCH LOVE.
She is so beautiful!
After this, sweet and innocent time was over. Cue the latex. This black dress is by Scarlet Bliss.
In this Behind the Scenes shot, Sarah knocks out a few with Fate in Gothic Lolita Wigs’ Teal Bob (available here: GLW Teal Bob)
My turn! BAM.
See what I mean about this girl morphing? From super sweet and innocent to drop dead super sexy. Just wow. I am so impressed.
Time to switch into the last outfit. Latex takes some time to get into and get out of, so here is a picture of me and Sarah being silly in the mean time. La la la aaaa.
This latex is from Fetasia Latex (provided by Jaded). The wig is Gothic Lolita Wigs Red/White Split without the ponytails (available here: GLW Red/White Split). We decided to go for a more latex pinup look and I love the results!
Behind the scenes time!
My hair gets really psycho during shoots. There is nothing I can do!
The sun was so awesome that even the iPad (playing some really awesome Destiny’s Child… because who doesn’t love Destiny’s Child?) could catch it!
SO cute. Ah. This is just too much. To wrap up our marathon shoot, here is a lovely/goofy/what? shot of all of us together. Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed the photos and the behind-the-scenes look at a photoshoot with Alexa Poletti Photography and Sweet Trade Photography. That’s all for now! xo
Hey guys! On Monday afternoon, I had the pleasure of shooting the Elkins sisters who are both just amazingly wonderful and funny. I had so much fun with these two. They reminded me of my own sisters and I suddenly wanted to do a family shoot with my sisters. I miss them! Ahhh! There is nothing like the bond of sisterhood. Sister relationships are so awesome because you are born with a best friend. You can fight and make up in a matter of seconds. It’s such a weird dynamic… I love it.
Now I don’t normally do family portraits. It’s not like I have anything against it, it’s just not usually a client I attract since I don’t shoot children. This shoot on the other hand… Pretty much the ideal family session for me. These girls are around my age so I was able to just kick it with them and take some photos for mom. Mom likes nature. Here we go!
Time for a little tech rundown:
For the set above, I shot completely natural light. I had Melanie (right) hold a few of the branches of the bush to frame their faces with the budding flowers and add an extra layer to the photo to make it more interesting. This set is a personal favorite of mine. These girls are so pretty and natural!
The photos below were shot under a dark, shadowy tree. Sun spots are always a problem under tree light, so I used a Canon 580exII flash into a 45″ white umbrella to illuminate the girls with a nice soft light, while blocking the major sun spots with a translucent reflector.
Just a quick thanks to these girls for being so cool and cooperative in our interesting…environment. Haha! And thanks to Jasmine for coming all the way down from NYC for this shoot! You guys are too cool!
Hey guys! So over the weekend, I had the pleasure of shooting Ms. Rachel Kepnes! She is a model/actress based out of Maryland. Rachel first came across my work last year and we have been trying to get a shoot together since. Finally, the day has come! I headed out to Rockville to meet Rachel and knock out some portraits.
We got really lucky with the weather that day. It was a GORGEOUS day in the mid-80’s.. Nice to have some relief after shooting Sharmela the week before when it was nearly 100 degrees! I am a tiny girl and lugging equipment around in that kind of heat is not my friend!
We started in this nice open field with natural light & light cloud coverage. I love the way the greens compliment her blue outfit. Just love it!
Look how that green just really compliments her eyes! I love that!
And as much as my style reflects my love for bright colors and lighting that pops, I am a total sucker for a good black and white image as well. They are so much moodier and I dig that.
After shooting in the field, we moved on to our next location, which are these awesome rock stairs. This setup is also all natural light in a much shadier area.
Next location! Stone archway. This area is completely shaded and I wanted to grab some images that pop. I shot a single Canon 580exII speedlite into a 45″ white umbrella at 45* for the soft lighting in this upcoming set.
That’s it for Rachel’s portrait and headshot session! Best of luck in your acting and modeling career, Rachel! Keep me posted on your adventures!
Hey everyone! So do you guys remember the actor Frank Bliss who I shot a few months back? You know… the scary, evil, bad guy? (Frank Bliss’s headshots). Well, after our shoot, we became friends and last week I had the opportunity to shoot his awesome son, Josh. Josh is one of the sweetest people I’ve met in a long time and I had such a blast shooting with him. Meet Josh:
This kid looks SO fantastic in black and white. He has a classic look about him that I just adore in high contrast black and white.
That little smirk… that’s what it’s all about.
I spend half of my sessions chatting and laughing. But I promise I keep it professional…………… sorta.
Again with the black and white.. I couldn’t help myself!
One of Josh’s favorite hobbies is playing tennis. For a clumsy, uncoordinated portrait photographer, I am surprisingly good at bouncing a tennis ball on a racket. Which is now one of my new favorite hobbies.
That’s it for this portrait session!
Check back again soon! Up next, a fashion fairy in a garden!
This is Red’s concept shoot that we shot today. We were trying to capture the feeling of a runaway kid, who is sharing his adventure with his bear and his wagon. I wanted to take a completely cinematic approach and convey the story exclusively through the photos. There is so much creative freedom with concepts like this.. I just love it! I think you’ll like the results. 🙂
Hi guys! I haven’t updated this blog in almost a month… slacker, I know. Since my last blog, I have moved to DC and gotten settled in, and worked on two different film productions. It has been a blast. They are two totally different genres so that’s been particularly fun and exciting. I love working on film crews so I will allow the slowness of my blog updates, hehe… I am usually so speedy! I still have updates to do from when I was in NC. Wow. Okay, so prepare yourself for lots of updates coming up…
Here we go.
Andres and Jessica. Perfect.
I am soooo pleased to have been invited as a guest and as the photographer of Andres and Jessica’s wedding. I became friends with Andres and Jessica when I first met them for their engagement session (Quick reminder: Engagement Photos!) almost a year ago. SOMEHOW I managed to not know this sweet couple although they know EVERYONE I know, including my boyfriend. What the heck. I feel like I missed out on a great friendship all these years! But since we know all of the same peeps, it made this wedding one of the most fun to shoot. What a blast!!!
Well, lets get started! This is the story of Andres and Jessica’s wedding day… Here we go!
The venue was the Doubletree in Charlotte, NC. All of the folks here were so accommodating and helpful. Big ups to the wedding planner (someone please remind me of her name?) for this wedding.. She killed it! I know that wedding planning is no easy task, and I totally respect those who can handle the job!
The wedding is getting close!
HOW FREAKING AMAZING IS THIS DRESS??
I want one just like it for my wedding! Hey Jess, let me get that! Haha!
While Jess and I were waiting for the ceremony, we knocked out some quick bridal shots. Doesn’t she look gorgeous? Thanks Genna Poletti Makeup Artistry for the insanely stunning makeup. I know you made Jessica and the girls extremely happy.
Now it’s time to go! It’s time for the wedding!
After the wedding was the cocktail hour where everyone got to know each other and of course, get some cocktails!
Jessica and Andres got their own little private quiet time during the cocktail hour to be alone and spend a few minutes together as newlyweds! I love these!
And the fun begins!! Reception time! Try not to be overwhelmed by the amount of reception photos I am posting… I know it is excessive but I just loved this wedding so much and had a blast! I just want to share the fun with photo memories!
This is Jessica and Andres’ first dance as newlyweds… Too cute!
She got him!
Time to throw the bouquet and garter! That kid was so stoked… He cracked me up! I’m so glad he caught it haha!
This is my absolute favorite dance sequence I have ever shot. Isn’t it the most adorable thing you have ever ever ever seen? Oh my gosh. Can’t get over it. Hahaha… awww..
Finally a few more favorites from the rest of the night.
I had such a blast with Andres and Jessica on their wedding night. Thanks again to Mr. & Mrs. L for allowing me to be a part of it!!!
Hey! An update from my life! You all know how busy I’ve been working on the movie I’m on right now.. Well tonight I had a little bit of time to grab my camera and get some behind the scenes stills. Enjoy!
Director Cathy Owens, Cinematographer Rachel Elias
Rodney Hoffman & Francine Locke
Well, we have the next few days off and I am looking forward to getting some rest and then getting back into the swing of things. Just about week more of production on this sucker and then I will be back to my regular updates. Love all of you! xo!
Update: New photos from production!
Brett Hunter & Matt Everson’s budding romance… aww…
Hey guys! So this post is a little different than my usual style. Some shots from the Lowbrow + Torch Runner show. No shots from the wild aftermath of police chases, searches, tow trucks, shooting suspects, or of Waka Flocka… but you can’t have everything.
Hahaha… so… Looks like I have a blog that I have been seriously neglecting… I am sorry blog followers, I never meant to hurt your feelings. Hugs to all followers??? xoxoxoxoxo?????
SO I am sure you are dying to know what I have been up to… Am I correct in assuming that? I thought so!
Well.. actually not too much. My twin sister/makeup artist moved to California so I have been trying to cope with that. It is hard to separate from your twin.. most of you probably have no clue what that is like or can’t even begin to imagine.. Basically, I feel as though I’ve been ripped in two. Not myself at all… So I sat around watching movies and playing video games and doing absolutely nothing, just being generally depressed…
Here to save the day!
50mm f/1.4!!! New lens!
Can’t wait to bust it out with the next installment of the animal series this weekend. And this next installment is going to really blow your socks off… I mean it. We have teamed up with fashion stylist and designer, Candace K Styling for our koi fish this weekend. We have a super smokin hot model, Christin Sorenson… Subreen and I aren’t playing around this time, guys!!! Get ready.. it is coming Sunday & nothing can stop it.
Nothing makes me feel like myself like jumping behind the lens. It is so amazing how doing something you love can turn your mood around in an instant. I am so happy to be myself again.
See yall Sunday!!!!
Sky Mountain Coffee.
The best!Sky Mountain Coffee is an independent, full service coffee shop located at Lowe’s Corporate Center in Mooresville.
These are Sky Mountain’s loose leaf teas shipped from all over the world. With over 15 exotic teas to choose from, you can’t go wrong!
Mmm!!! I am a pumpkin spice addict.. It’s becoming a problem!
Coffee of the Day! Be sure to check out Sky Mountain’s facebook fan page to see what they are brewing each day!
This is “The Blue Wonder”, Sky Mountain’s very own in-house 5 kilo coffee roaster. Personally, I think it looks like something from Willy Wonka.. Especially with that fish-eye action! Crazy! Very super cool!
And here we are.. full circle, back at the entrance to Sky Mountain Coffee. If you are a Lowe’s employee. a contractor, or even just a visitor, I highly recommend you come down to the first floor and pay a visit to SMC. You won’t regret it!

YES! These fall colors are banginnn! I shot the awesome, fall-themed wedding of Pam and Mark last weekend. I loveee the colors.. With the reds and oranges and having the ceremony backlit by the sun… Perfect!
I love this setup! This colored leaves, pumpkin on a haystack ceremony could have been my favorite that I’ve shot. I’m a sucker for these colors, seriously. This was all set up in their huge backyard.. Ceremony and reception! So cool and crafty. Pam did a fabulous job.
Mmmm.. apple cider and wedding cake!
And the wedding begins…
This is Mark and Pam’s seriously cute daughter/flower girl, Dakota. You may remember her from their engagement session I shot a while back. If not, here is a refresher:
So I have shot the sand blending ceremony plenty of times, but this time was something a little different. Mark and Pam have their own families, their own kids… Instead of pouring two different colored sands together to symbolize their bond together, they had many different colors, one for each child, that symbolized the joining of their two families. I really dig it!
Weddings are so happy!
Here is one of their wedding guests that was just the most adorable little boy I have ever seen… hehe.. SO CUTE.
Mark did a first dance with each of his four daughters, all which were special songs about each girl. This photo-op was just too cute to not post in the blog.. This is daddy and Dakota dancing to Taylor Swift’s “Mine”.
Thats all for now! Until next time, xx.
Snow Camp, NC
Hey guys.. Can you believe it? Two posts, back to back, with no new photos… Crazy huh? Ok well, I am going to make up for it with a killer killer killer series coming up. I’ve been meeting with Subreen Davis and Genna Poletti about it… So yall know that means there is some crazy makeup in store! Speaking of Subreen’s makeup, I am going to repost the photos from the Creature of the Deep photoshoot because the files are jacked up and the colors look whack on my blog. Which brings me to my next point of interest…
You can view those photos how they are SUPPOSED to look in my new WEBSTORE. Hell yeah! It’s super sweet and makes things very, very easy when it comes to viewing photos and buying prints. Just click through and buy the ones you want.
The link to my e-store is: www.alexapoletti.smugmug.com
Visit it! Buy some prints! Cooool. I will probably be uploading my Misc. section from my website in order to make it easy to buy those photos, as well.
I am in WILMINGTON now, so when I get back to Charlotte.. I will make all the changes that I am talking about.
I am so excited about this new series… It is a secret for now, but I am about to burst. =) CAN’T WAIT.
Hey guys. No new photos for you in this post unfortunately.. HOWEVER! I’d like to announce a few things going on! Tomorrow I am shooting with Chris Van Atta, the baddest photog in Asheville. He has been so helpful and instructive in my photo career.. I have only kind words to speak of him. I am really excited to be reunited with him and get the creative juices flowing!
This weekend, I am heading to Wilmington to shoot Ms. Jacqueline Tew. Do yall remember her? She is ms adventure, the great escape, tied to railroad tracks! It is time for another installment of her series and I am stoked. I am also hoping to shoot another idea that I’ve been dying to bring to life for nearly a year now. I will let that one be a surprise… >:)
Speaking of surprises! I have a brand new series coming your way that is going to knock your boots off. I am teaming up with makeup artists Subreen Davis and Genna Poletti to bring a killer new series in the next few weeks. Looking forward to this one!
I am going to leave you guys clinging to the edge of your seats now as you’ve caught wind of this exciting new news. I bet you can hardly stand it. Later!
So, a few weeks ago, makeup artist, Subreen Davis, came to me wanting to do a collaboration. I know that she kicks ass, so I was sooo super stoked about this opportunity. I asked her what she can do, and then I will come up with an idea based on that.
Her reply was, “I can do anything.”
which is the coolest answer ever, because that led us to this shoot today. After planning and planning and tweaking and planning, the idea blossomed into the best shoot (possibly ever), with the help of ridiculously talented model, Hannah Sayles.
Special Effects Makeup Photography
Today, I headed out to the lake to visit my dad, his fair lady, and his zoo of canines. Wielding only my fisheye, I thought it would be fun to harass the pups for a little while… and it sure was.
There is nothing cuter than a smiling dog. This is Grinch Feet.
The mutant chihuahua sewer rat with a face only a mother could love…
At least he is charming.
Grinch Feet receives a treat of some sort, while Snaggletooth watches with envy from afar….
Grinch Feet retires to her favorite place, with a belly full of treats.
So happy to get out there to see my family and see these chaotic creatures. They hold such a huge place in my heart. =)
Lake Norman, NC
Hey everyone! Sorry I have not updated in a while… I’ve been on vacation (again)!! For my birthday back in May, my wonderful boyfriend and one of my best girlfriends granted me a trip to visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Universal Studios, Orlando, FL. Well, it was time for us to redeem that vacation, and let me tell you… It was INCREDIBLE. I cannot describe the feelings it gave me.. just wow. I may be 22, but I go into 13 yr old super geek mode when it comes to Harry Potter. Don’t judge me.
The park left me speechless. It was really everything I hoped it would be. Here are some vacation pics I thought I might share, despite them being iPhone photos and nothing worthy of the title “photography”.. They are just for fun, helping you keep up with me, for my friends far away. I didn’t want to take my 5d mk II into the park and have to worry about it constantly instead of enjoying myself. I’m glad I made that decision- the day was perfect. It was such a blast… Bring on the iPhone 4 pics:
